Bowen & Emmett

Two complementary approaches that work gently with the body to ease tension, restore balance and support natural healing.

Bowen Therapy

Bowen Therapy

Bowen Therapy is a gentle, hands-on bodywork technique that encourages the body's natural ability to heal and restore balance. Using a series of precise, rolling movements over muscles, tendons, ligaments, and fascia, Bowen Therapy stimulates the nervous system and promotes deep relaxation.

Unlike many forms of bodywork, Bowen Therapy is performed using light pressure, with short pauses between sets of movements. These pauses give the body time to respond, allowing the nervous system to process the information and initiate its own healing mechanisms.

Many people seek Bowen Therapy for support with:

  • Back, neck, and shoulder pain
  • Muscle and joint discomfort
  • Sports injuries
  • Headaches and migraines
  • Sciatica
  • Stress and tension
  • Fatigue
  • Postural imbalances
  • Pregnancy-related discomfort
  • General health and wellbeing

Approach

Every Bowen session is tailored to the individual's needs. Because Bowen Therapy works holistically, many clients notice improvements beyond the area of concern, including better sleep, reduced stress, increased mobility, and an overall sense of wellbeing. Bowen Therapy is suitable for people of all ages—from newborn babies to older adults—and can complement conventional medical care. While it is not intended to diagnose or replace medical treatment, it can be a valuable addition to your overall health and wellness plan.

At Release & Restore, Bowen Therapy is offered in a calm, supportive environment where your body is given the opportunity to relax, reset, and heal naturally.

Emmett Technique

Emmett Technique

The Emmett Technique is a gentle, safe, and effective muscle release therapy that uses light finger pressure on specific points of the body to help ease muscular tension, improve movement, and promote relaxation. Developed by Ross Emmett, this unique approach works by applying precise, gentle pressure to specific 'Emmett Points'. These points communicate with the brain through the nervous system, encouraging muscles to relax and allowing the body to move more freely. Many people experience changes during or shortly after treatment.

Treatment is performed fully clothed whenever possible and is gentle enough for people of all ages, from children to older adults. Sessions can be provided as a stand-alone therapy or integrated with Bowen Therapy to enhance relaxation and support the body's natural healing processes.

The Emmett Technique may help with:

  • Neck and shoulder tension
  • Back discomfort
  • Hip and pelvic tightness
  • Arm and wrist discomfort
  • Knee and leg pain
  • Restricted movement and flexibility
  • Poor posture
  • Muscle tightness following exercise
  • Stress-related muscular tension
  • General aches and pains

Approach

Many clients report feeling lighter, more balanced, and able to move with greater ease following treatment. The Emmett Technique can be a valuable complementary therapy for improving comfort, mobility, and overall wellbeing.

At Release & Restore, the Emmett Technique is offered with a gentle, holistic approach, helping your body release tension, restore balance, and move with greater comfort and freedom.
